I bambini sono curiosi e sicuramente vi avranno chiesto almeno una volta come funziona il computer. Come spiegare il computer ai bambini? Ovviamente usando parole semplici e spiegando che si tratta di un’invenzione recente: una volta i computer erano grandissimi, occupavano una stanza, mentre oggi possono essere anche molto piccolini.
A cosa serve il computer? A fare calcoli, prima di tutto, ma anche a far vedere film, video, immagini, cartoni, a far ascoltare e comporre musica, a far giocare chi lo usa, per questo è molto amato dai bambini. Il computer è una scatola, grossa o piccola, collegata a uno schermo, proprio come quello della televisione: dentro la “scatola” ci sono dei circuiti elettronici e una CPU, che è come il cervello umano per il computer. La RAM, invece, è il cassetto della memoria dove il computer salva tutto quello che gli diciamo di ricordarsi.
Noi usiamo il computer tramite tastiera e mouse, dando dei comandi che si tramutano poi nelle operazioni che il computer sa fare (trasmettere, scrivere, stampare!).
